Early Childhood Program - In our Early Childhood Center, our nursery (3-year-old), pre-kindergarten (4-year-old) and kindergarten (5-year-old) students experience learning activities that establish the critical foundations of literacy and numeracy. Each day students enter a nurturing environment that helps them develop the habits necessary to be successful students. Students also learn to interact in a classroom, collaborate, share perspectives, and respond to setbacks. Our program develops the social and emotional growth and competence of young learners.
Lynch Foundation: Holy Name Parish School is a proud partner with the Lynch Foundation to provide and support high quality Early Childhood Education.
Elementary (Grades 1 - 4): In elementary school, HNPS students develop into critical readers, creative writers, and confident, articulate public speakers. Through rich learning experiences in the classroom, students build knowledge in literature, social studies, science, and math. They experience a true liberal arts education with enriching specialist classes that include music, art, technology, Spanish, STEM and physical education.
Upper School (Grades 5 & 6): As our students move into the Upper School we allow them to experience a greater sense of independence. Through this developmental stage we support them as they reflect on themselves as members of our community and as respectful members of our ever changing world.
In our Upper School, the students develop the ability to hypothesize, to organize information into useful and meaningful constructs, and to grasp long-term cause and effect relationships. Our students play a major role in their learning and education through a challenging, exploratory, hands-on, integration, and relevant curriculum. The teaching staff accommodates the diverse skills, abilities, and prior knowledge and utilizes digital tools. The learning experiences in our Upper School capitalize on our students' cultural, experiential, and personal backgrounds.
